THE INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP OF BUILT ARCHITECTURE
origine
Built Architecture – thought from matter – is rooted in the deepest civilizations.
A ferment of the work of the builders until the end of the nineteenth century, it was gradually supplanted in the West by the Architecture of drawing, highly bearer of academism.
This orientation, increasingly detached from matter, inspires today the field of Contemporary Architecture, which tends to detach itself from its foundations.
It is on this observation that different professors of Architecture of European and Asian Schools have decided to develop in their teaching, the reasoned approaches of Matter and Technologies that are related, as the very roots of Architecture.
The fundamental theme that is the essence of the Workshop is this architecture that is rooted in the talent of materials and techniques, built architecture, genius in the matter. It is to design architecture knowing how to build it, that is to say to integrate and assimilate contemporary environmental techniques as tools of architectural design.
This questioning which concerns the way to conceive from a reflection on the contemporary requirements of urbanism is also at the heart of the pedagogical concerns of the founders. This reflection has evolved by enriching itself, adapting to new problems.
Today, professors at AIAC internationalize this knowledge and concretize it through an annual competition in which World Universities participate.
This is a friendly competition where teachers and students want to progress «together» (INSIEME), with the advantage of mobilizing students to make the best possible project, and the consecration of a Prize or Mention which will be useful for entering professional life or requesting the possibility of continuing studies in foreign schools. The challenge is to learn from everyone by giving the best of your own knowledge.
